We are a group of undergraduate students from Puerto Rico taking part in the Córdova & Fernós Internship Program in Washington, D.C. during the fall semester of 2013. The critical issues affecting Vieques have gone unattended for far too long and we have taken it upon ourselves to make sure that the President and Congress take action. Hence, we feel a strong responsibility and solidarity with the people of Vieques, as do many others in and outside in Puerto Rico. 

We will be doing lobbying and advocacy work in the offices of Members of Congress and the Obama Administration to encourage them to address these concerns. Our current position in Washington D.C. provides us with the ideal platfrom to give Vieques the voice it needs so that a change can occur. We hope you join our efforts by signing our petition to the President, writing to your Member of Congress and joining Justice for Vieques' fight.
